What is happening at Coal Creek Golf Course in April...

Please note the course will be closed April 14 & 15 for aeration.

A reminder that with very little year-to-date moisture, below-normal snowpack in Colorado, warmer weather, and more golfers eager to get out and play, turf is slower to recover as it comes out of dormancy and may remain brown longer than players are used to. In spring, the course relies on runoff rather than irrigation. The golf course’s primary water source is City of Louisville reuse water, which is expected to be available for irrigation as early as April 9.

With our limited winter water supply, staff continues to focus on turf in key areas of the course such as greens and fairways. We appreciate your patience as we work to protect the course and support seasonal course condition transitions in the weeks ahead.

Core aeration is essential to keeping our turf healthy, resilient, and in the best condition possible throughout the season. We know it is not every golfer’s favorite time of year, but it is a necessary step in maintaining quality course conditions. To give the course a few extra days to heal and green up after aeration, Coal Creek Golf Course will be closed on April 14 and 15.

2026 Club Demo & Fitting Days

Join us for one of our upcoming fitting days and get matched with gear that fits you, your swing, your stance, your style. Because the right clubs do not just improve your game, they make golf way more fun.

Spots are limited. All fitting days have a $50 fee, payable in the golf shop on the day of the event. This fee can be applied toward the purchase or order of clubs from the brand hosting the fitting.

Operation 36: Learn to Play Golf!

A fun, structured program for junior and adult golfers that makes learning golf simple and social.

Spring/Summer: May 5–June 25. Summer/Fall: July 14–September 3.

Operation 36 is a nationwide program that offers a clear, supportive path to improvement through classes, on-course play, and app-based progress tracking. Unlike traditional lessons, it teaches golf in reverse, starting everyone at level 1, just 25 yards from the center of the green. The goal is to shoot 36 (par) or better over 9 holes to move to level 2, which is 50 yards from the green. This process continues through 6 levels until you can shoot 36 from the full tee box.

Program includes eight academy classes, four Operation 36 9-hole events, and mobile app access.

Introducing The Turn at Coal Creek

The Turn at Coal Creek is now open at Coal Creek Golf Course, serving golfers, neighbors, and visitors. Operated by Chris Rubeck of Ruby Ru’s in Lafayette, the restaurant is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in April for grab-and-go food and drinks. Full service begins in May.
