Age Groups

The birthday cutoff is July 31, 2024. Cost includes instruction, team uniform, and unlimited range access May-July 2024.
  • U13 (7-13) - cost is $449/person
  • U17 (13-17) - cost is $449/person

How to Register:

  • Total cost is $449 per person.
  • Register online at PGAJr.League.com and pay the $99 fee per junior (payable to the PGA).
  • Pay the remaining balance of $350 to Coal Creek Golf Course by May 1, 2024. Families with multiple juniors can enjoy a 15% discount on the remaining balance. Pay Now >

Practices & Matches:

  • Team Practices on Fridays: Starting in May, we conduct team practices every Friday afternoon after school for four weeks, building skills and camaraderie among the teams.
  • Matches on Tuesdays: From May 28th onwards, we commence 8 weeks of 9-hole matches every Tuesday afternoon, with practice and warm-up starting at 1:00 pm, play beginning at 2:00 pm, and concluding by 5:00 pm.
  • Location: All practices and matches will take place exclusively at Coal Creek Golf Course (585 W Dillon Rd., Louisville, CO).

Teams:

  • Team Leaders: We have seven experienced captains ready to lead teams, and depending on demand, they will be allocated to either a U13 or U17 team.
  • Team Size: We anticipate having 10 juniors per team, providing an optimal learning and playing environment.

Additional Benefits:

  • Team Uniforms: Every participating junior will receive team uniforms.
  • Range Access: From May through July 2024, every junior will have unlimited access to range balls at Coal Creek Golf Course.
  • Personalized Coaching: Each junior will receive personalized instruction and coaching from their captain and our skilled assistants.
  • Parental Involvement: There is no cost for parents who wish to ride along and spectate during the matches.

Practice Facilities

Our practice facilities include our completely new horseshoe tee box that can accommodate 30 players comfortably who can hone their skills at one of 5 target greens.

Our practice sand bunker is located on the west end of the range tee box and is a great tool to enhance your fairway bunker shots to your green side saves. Next to the sand bunker is a chipping green with multiple elevation changes.

Coal Creek Golf Course features two practice putting green.
The first is located near the clubhouse and is maintained at the same height and speed of our 18 greens on the course.

Facilities Practice

Our Punch Bowl green is a different animal. The green is large and undulating. It is a great place for you and your family to putt over hills and through valleys. The 18 hole course is available every day. We have putters and golf balls available at $ 2 per person for those who do not have putters to use.

The Driving Range closes at 6 PM every Monday for maintenance. It will reopen on Tuesday at 7 AM.

2024 League Schedule and Details

The Senior Men’s League is a weekly golf league offering an opportunity for like-minded people to play golf in a fun and friendly environment while offering equitable formats for all to participate in competitive golf.

Yearly Dues

  • $75 fee includes the annual USGA handicap dues and 2024 League dues. Pay Now ($75) >
  • If you already have a USGA handicap from the Coal Creek Men’s Club or another course or club your fee will only be $40 Pay Now ($40) >
There will be two flights based upon the handicap index. IF we have 56 or more players we will have a third flight.
  • Flights will be determined weekly by creating flights of an equal number of players in each flight based upon handicap.
  • Weekly points will be awarded based on your results within your flight.
  • Payout in shop credit for the top 3 NET  in each flight and top 3 GROSS in the entire field.
  • New players who join the league will be assigned to a flight by handicap
  • Points will be awarded each week to the top 10 finishers
    • 5,4,3,2,1,1,1,1,1,1
    • Ties will not be broken but awarded similar points.
    • Double points added for tournament rounds
    • Triple points for the end of year championship ***
    • As your handicap changes through the year or by the handicap ranges on a given day, you may be reassigned to a different flight.
    • Points, regardless of flight, are combined to one leaderboard for the yearlong point competition.

Tees in play  

  • Will have a choice between Pick & Shovel (6598), Coal Car (5756 yards) and Lantern (4825)
  • Changes in tee will be reflected in your playing handicap
    • Tees must be declared before the first event you play with the option of changing your designated tee 1 time throughout the year.

Weekly Format of play

Team events pairings

  • All team events will occur 1 time per month and be paired utilizing the tournament software to achieve the following:
    • As equitable as possible handicap dispersion
    • Foster more member interaction with fellow golfers.
  • Yearly point system and Year end awards
    • There is only one flight and leaderboard for yearly point awards.
    • Gross point winners are paying three spots in 2024
    • Net point winners are paying ten spots in 2024
    • An individual cannot receive awards in both categories. Their best finish will be awarded.
  • The $15 weekly entry fee is mandatory for 2024 and the price remains the same.
    • Breakout of the $15 fee
      • $7 to top 3 net winners per flight
      • $3 for net skins per flight
      • $3 for skill games combined flights
      • $2 allocated and saved for end of the year point total award.

Skill games

  • Available to all flights
    • Skill Games will rotate between additional formats this year.
      • Individual events will feature the same four games as previous years. (Four closets to the pins, two longs drives, and two long putts.)
    • Skins game is unique to each flight and are NET (Canadian) skins.
  • Starting times at the beginning and end of the season are moved to a later time.
  • Individual score cards will be produced for five events.
    1. The Four Majors and the League Championship
    2. Tournament Rounds
    3. Four Majors will post as Tournament (T) rounds.
    4. End of year Championship will post as a (T) round.
    5. All other rounds will post as regular rounds.

Pace of play procedures

The expectation is to play 18-holes in 4 hours and 30 minutes

  • 1stoccurrence: Marshal will address the group. 
  • 2ndoccurrence, A member of the professional staff will address the issue.
  • 3rdoccurrence, a 1 stroke penalty is imposed on each player within the 4some.

Sign up procedures change for 2024

  • **The Deadline for event signups is 5:00pm every Monday.**
  • If you sign up for an event and then no-show without a no-call to inform us, $20 will be charged to your account.

Club Championship 2024

The club championship is a separate event from the yearlong Net and Gross Champions.  The results of the club championship are calculated into the yearlong competition.

The Club Championship will now be the premier Senior Men's League event of the year Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14.

  • The normal $15 weekly fee will be converted into a $25 (2 days x $10) tournament entry fee.
    • There will be 2 closest to the pin challenges each day
  • Everyone playing in the Club Championship will be playing in one flight.
    • In the event of a tie for first place, a sudden-death playoff will occur.
      • A gift will be given to each contestant to commemorate the year and the event.
    • This will be a 36 hole, two-day, Club Championship Tournament.
        • The Winner will get his name engraved on a plaque that will be updated yearly going forward.
      • There will be payouts for the Club Championship Winner and top 10 finishers. (Pool TBD by field size.)
          • There are *no* payouts for Day 1 standings.
      • The Club Championship will award triple the points to the yearly leaderboard.

 

2024 Local Rule for the Coal Creek Golf Course Senior Men's League

  • Any ankle high grass to be played as a penalty area ( lateral hazard ) 
  • A ball lost off the tee on holes 5 & 15 can be dropped and played from the forward tees hitting 3. 
  • Maximum of 7 strokes per hole on par 3’s and 8 strokes per hole on all others.

Golfers from the Front Range quickly recognize the distinctness of Coal Creek Golf Course.  The abundance of trees that frame and adorn the landscape are truly a distinctive feature.  The golf course has 13 holes in which water is a component of the design and test as Coal Creek meanders through the 187 acres.  Tall, wispy fescue grass is a new component that adds definition and texture to the land and is strategically placed to impact your visual stimulation.
